AIM - PowerPC
Recently, i was reading a note on powerpc, yeah right we have it in computer system architecture. I'm really surprised with Apple IBM and Motorola RISC development by this alliance. In 1990s Motorola came up with its first RISC processor, it was doing poor in market. Soon they got combined with IBM and Apple. These vendors came up with PowerPC like G3, G4 and in 2003 IBM came up most powerful G5-64 bit powerPC. Motorola exited with chip market in 2004 by giving birth to FreeScale semiconductor, soon IBM announced to hand over its computer market to a chinese company Lenovo to get back on PowerPC development for Sony Playstation 3 (Cell processor), Nintendo and Xbox 360. In 2005 Apple announced they'd no longer use PowerPC in Macintosh. Apple collebrated with Intel for its computer production. Thats how a era of onr of the great computer architecture turns to game consoles.
